The training environment and program will mirror the competitive soccer experience. The curriculum will be created to maximize each player’s technical and tactical development. Players will train 3x per week and training sessions will be designed by the U9-U12 Directors of Coaching, Kyle Lineberger (boys) and Ryan Henkel (girls), and will be geared toward maximizing each player’s technical ability while challenging them to perform those techniques under the pressures of game situations. Players will be introduced to small group tactical situations and individual roles and responsibilities of each position on the field. Following the Future Stars program, the Elite Juniors is the 2nd step in the 2-year program designed to prepare players for the Tier 1 Competitive experience at U11. In addition, our Director of Recreational Soccer, Adam Creasey, will be involved with the week-to-week operation of the Elite Juniors Program. Teams will play in the Colorado Youth Soccer Option 1 League on Saturdays, playing games against competitive competition. The teams will travel outside of Boulder County for away games. In addition, all Elite Juniors Players will be placed on teams to participate in 2-3 tournaments per year where they will be coached by the Directors of Coaching and FC Boulder staff coaches.
Players and teams who register for Elite Juniors will be placed in the Option 1 player pool. From this pool, the DOC will create teams based on where players will be most successful. Regular season games will be coached by a volunteer coach or by FC Boulder staff when available.
Note: Players who register for Elite Juniors do not have the option of playing in-house on Friday nights.
The $430 registration fees includes a training shirt, partial tournament fees, game field rental, Colorado Youth Soccer fees, limited insurance, and administrative support. Uniform costs are not included.
