John Welsch – Technical Director
John holds his “A” license through the United States Soccer Federation and has served as both the Director of Coaching and Technical Director for the original FC Boulder and the Boulder County Force since 1989. John has helped pioneer competitive club soccer in Boulder County and throughout Colorado and continues to be a leader in Colorado youth soccer. Under John’s direction, FC Boulder will continue to be one of the most respected and successful clubs in Colorado. (email John)
James Wagenschutz - James Wagenschutz – DOC HS (U15-U18) Boys and Girls
James comes to FC Boulder after spending the past six years as the head assistant men’s soccer coach at Colorado College. He is a nationally licensed coach, holding the USSF A license and the NSCAA Advanced National and Youth Diplomas. In addition to working with teams in the high school boys age groups, he will create and implement FC Boulder’s new Strength, Conditioning, and Injury Prevention program that will become a central component of our competitive soccer program. Heather Solar - Heather Solar – Director of Player Development – Girls
Heather was recently named 2011 Colorado Youth Soccer’s Girls Competitive Coach of the Year. She is nationally licensed through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the United States Soccer Federation. She has an unparalleled record of placing players into collegiate soccer programs throughout the country. Heather runs tremendous training sessions and will continue to bring enthusiasm and passion to the field every day as FC Boulder’s High School Girls’ Director. (email Heather)
Adam Hayes – DOC U13-U14 Boys
Adam is a nationally licensed coach through the United States Soccer Federation. As the Director of Coaching for the U11-U14 Boys Program at Boulder County Force since 2010, Adam’s teams have won 2 Colorado State Cup Championships and appeared in 2 other State Cup Finals. Adam has coached competitive teams for 7 years across nearly every age group – boys and girls – and is excited to share his passion for the game with the U13-U15 age group players and coaching staff. James Davies – DOC U13-U14 Girls
James is a nationally licensed coach, holding the USSF A & Y licenses and the NSCAA Premier and Level IV Goalkeeping Diplomas. Hailing from Nottingham in England, James spent a significant part of his youth in Boulder before directing and coaching players of all ages for eight years with Broomfield. Part of James’ approach is to take soccer in new directions, including the development of the state’s first specific soccer psychology course; working with Special Olympics players; and charity work to bring the beautiful game to those otherwise unable to participate. Kyle Lineberger – DOC U9-U12 Boys
Kyle holds national level licenses and diplomas from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the United States Soccer Federation and has over 14 years of coaching experience at the club and high school level in Florida, Texas, and Colorado. Kyle has been working as a Director of Coaching for the past 5 years with both the Stingers Soccer Club in Evergreen and Boulder County Force, where he has spent the past year running the Boys U9 and U10 Developmental Academy Program. Kyle has a great passion for the game of soccer and for developing young players and is extremely excited to be a part of FC Boulder and its mission. (email Kyle)
Ryan Henkel – DOC U9-U12 Girls
Ryan is a nationally accredited coach through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and has 14 years of coaching experience at the club and high school level in Connecticut and Colorado. With experience coaching all ages from U-9 to U-20, Ryan has found that the development of the youngest competitive player is where his true passion in coaching exists. The blank canvas of a player’s soccer artistry is where his enthusiasm for soccer is most readily visible. The joy of the players at training is oftentimes mimicked by Ryan himself. Ryan is excited to continue this passion developing the aspiring young player as the U9-U12 Girls Director for FC Boulder. (email Ryan)
Andrew Current – DOC – Goalkeepers
Andrew is beginning his 4th year of working with goalkeepers in Boulder. He is nationally licensed by the United States Soccer Federation in addition to holding his NSCAA Level II goalkeeper license. Andrews is the assistant Director of Goalkeeping with the Core Goalkeeping Academy and is the assistant women’s coach at Metro State in Denver. He is excited to work with the players at FC Boulder to develop the strongest youth goalkeepers in Colorado. (email Andrew)
