This year’s Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, December 10, and FC Boulder will be partnering with the Community First Foundation to raise money for the FC Boulder Financial Assistance Program.
Each year, the club provides over $100,000 in financial assistance to players in our community who need financial support to be able to participate in soccer.
AnchorThis year, we will be hosting events at two local restaurants where you can join FC Boulder staff, coaches and families, to help raise money for our financial assistance program while enjoying a meal with your family and friends.
Please save the date now and look for more details coming shortly.

Girls Competitive Program

As players begin to think the winter months, please remember that the spring soccer season is right around the corner. Have you done everything you need to prepare yourself for this winter? Anyone I coach will often hear me say that, two or three practices a week and games on Saturday’s aren’t enough to propel you to the next level. So, I’m going to send you all a couple ball mastery videos that players can replicate themselves. These videos are simple and easy enough that they can be done anywhere that has a 3×3 flat area of space. Remember, you get out of this game what you are prepared to put in:

Boys Competitive Program

We are coming to the close of what feels like a very successful fall season. Each team had challenges to grow from and triumphs to celebrate along the way. It felt like Fall was a short-lived season as winter weather came crashing in on the final weekends, leaving a few teams with games (hopefully) still to be played. We wish each of those teams health and success to close out the Fall!

Going forward, we continue to want all our families to go to to familiarize and lock in your child’s spot in the Winter Program that best fits. We encourage any activity that keeps your son moving over winter and we have a terrific series of options to make that activity soccer-specific.

A reminder that coaches will be sharing with you and your player their End of Fall review before November 12. As those come across, you are welcome to set up a phone call or in-person meeting with the coach. We ask that you be patient in setting up in-person meetings as the coaches do have other commitments, but we will meet those requests. The fall player review establishes the opportunity for each player to work hard over the winter and to grow their own game prior to the spring season.

Boys Academy Program

Winter Training
Winter Training schedules are set and should have been communicated to you for boys 2006-2009. Indoor trainings at the Sports Performance Center will begin the week of December 2 taking off the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s and outdoor sessions will begin the week of January 13.

For the 2005-2009 players, the formal winter training schedule is being finalized and will begin the week of December 2 for both indoor and outdoor sessions, taking the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s off.

Local High School Success
Congratulations to the following local high schools with FC Boulder players in their squads who have made this year’s CHSAA playoffs! Our program is extremely proud of all of the players and coaches representing FC Boulder in the local programs and we wish them all the best of luck in their quest to be State Champions!

With one more week left in the fall season, I just wanted to say congratulations to all of our coaches and players on a great season! Overall, it seems the players are learning and enjoying the game which is our program’s ultimate goal and things will only continue to improve as we move through the winter training season and begin the spring season in March.

Winter is coming… are you ready?! We have a number of Winter Programming options for FC Boulder players and hope you will take part. From Futsal Leagues to our Performance and Skills Program, all winter programming information can be found here.

The Sports Performance Center is also open to outside groups looking to rent fields; however, space is filling up quickly for the winter months. Field reservations can be made by contacting Fields Brown at

Check out our Winter Programming page for programs!

The Juniors Program is entering its last few days of the Fall season after an enjoyable and productive month of October. Despite the recent snow and cold temperatures, we have had great attendance at our Wednesday Optional Sessions at the Sports Performance Center with Assistant Juniors Director, Rickie Powers.

Five FC Boulder teams represented the Juniors program at the Colorado Soccer Association’s Target Cup on October 6 and 7. The 2010 Boys Academy Black Pool A were Finalists in the Gold Division, while the 2010 Boys Academy Pool B were Champions of the Silver Division. We had positive showings and representation from the 2010 Boys Academy Red, 2010 Girls Academy Black Pool A and B that weekend as well.

As we look toward the off season, players are encouraged to take part in our Futsal and SAQ Program on Thursdays and the Friday Night Futsal program. These will both be at the Sports Performance Center beginning the week of December 2.
